motherboard lights up but no power

The CPU_READY LED is green, the various RGB colors are changing, but no matter what I can't get the power to turn on. Most motherboards have an LED on the board itself that lights up even before the power button is pressed, in my case that LED was lighting up as expected. Got a rather sneaky issue here.
